I dont find any laptop model on the support-page from ASUS with the number R315L, the only one who seems to fit is under the link below. But it´s for the model number R315LD, you may will check this number on your laptop again. It seems to be a discontinued product and the only laptop i´ve found is with this model number, so i may be wrong with the driver. Make sure you have a backup of your computer before you try to install it.

Choose Windows 10 (64bit) and then the touchpad driver. It´s the same Driver i´ve mentioned before, and since it worked fine on the laptop of my girlfriend i think you can use it too.

Edit: After i´ve read the manual provided for your laptop on the link above i´ve mentioned that the laptop probably also have the model number X550LA. You might want to check it, here is the link to this device:

Under the Support-Tab for this laptop is the same driver for the touchpad i´ve mentioned before, so i really think this must help if it is the same laptop with an other model number according to the country you life in - but i am not 100% sure. :-/

Another idea is to reinstall Windows 10 from scratch. Just like me you´ve upgraded from Windows 7 or 8.1, and for me the upgrade does not run clean - on my desktop-computer, the PC in my company i have to work with and the laptop of my girlfriend have other issues to. Mail not working properly, stuttering sound on the laptop etc.

Reinstall touchpad driver asus

So over the weekend i´ve installed a clean Windows 10 on the laptop and my desktop - after i´ve upgraded it first so it was activated before. And - surprise surprise :-D - the automatic driver installation within the fresh Windows 10 installation progress works fine for the touchpad on the laptop. Out of the box after i´ve installed a fresh Windows 10 - don´t ask me why. ;-)

So if the touchpad is not working after you try it with the download mentioned up above, this may be a possible solution. You can make a fresh installation after you have upgraded once from a Windows 7 or 8.1 installation, but have in mind: it works for the laptop of my girlfriend, i don´t know exactly that it will work for your device too. So just make a disc or USB-Drive with a copy of Windows 10 and reinstall it - but make a backup of you personal files before. Microsoft knows your Computer with the help of an Hardware-ID saved on a Microsoft Server, so your copy of Windows 10 will be activated again once you´ve reinstalled it.

You can make a bootable DVD or USB-Drive with the Microsoft Media Creation Tool. Download it here, since it is a good idea for the future to have an Disc or USB-Drive with the Windows 10 installation files if you have to reinstall it after other issues or hardware failure - of course, I hope that does not happen. ;-)

Sorry for the big wall of text, but i hope this will help you a little bit. But now i have no other ideas left - beside the idea or workaround from Kalpana. But the automatic driver installation or update from the devices manager in Windows - and it doesnt matter if it is 7, 8 or 10 - fails very often - in my opinion.
